On November 19th, 2004, a regular-season NBA game between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons took a violent and unforgettable turn. During the third quarter, Pistons fan John Green threw a plastic cup at Indiana's Ron Artest, then known as Metta Sandiford-Artest. Artest responded by jumping into the stands and throwing a punch at Green.

The Aftermath

The incident quickly escalated into a full-blown brawl. Artest's Pacers teammates Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson rushed to his aid, but they ended up fighting with other Pistons fans. The game was called off, and the NBA responded swiftly, suspending all five players involved for a total of 146 games. Artest received the longest ban of 86 games.
