Remembering the Late NBA Star and Father of Kobe Bryant

WEB Joseph Washington Jellybean Bryant, born October 19, 1954, was an American professional basketball player and coach. Standing at 6'9" and weighing 185 pounds, Bryant played the power forward and small forward positions. His nickname, "Jellybean," was given to him due to his love for the candy.

Bryant had a successful eight-year NBA career, playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers, and Houston Rockets. After retiring from the NBA, he pursued a coaching career, serving as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA and the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA.

Bryant will be remembered not only for his basketball accomplishments but also as the father of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in 2020, along with his daughter Gianna and seven others.

Joe Bryant passed away at the age of 69 on July 16, 2024. He will be remembered as a skilled basketball player, dedicated coach, and loving father. His legacy will continue to inspire and motivate basketball players and fans around the world.
